Our Estate Valuation service is in-line with HMRC’s guidelines for the valuation of shareholdings owned by the Estate of a deceased shareholder.

We will send you the Share Valuation Quote via email or postal response depending on how you contacted us. If you call us, we can provide you with a Share Valuation Quote over the phone or in writing. If we are able to (and if you’d prefer) we may be able to process your request for a Share Valuation immediately.

The Share Valuation Quote will list the shareholdings that match your request details. If you are happy with the list of shareholdings for which we can provide Share Valuation, you will need to ask us to proceed and make payment. Please provide your Quote Reference (found on your Quote).

We will not charge for the Share Valuation for any shareholding that has a value of £250 or less (as at the requested date). We will still provide the value if this is the case.

For all other shareholdings with a value of £250.01 or more (as at the requested date), we will charge £18 (inc. VAT) per shareholding.

If you have received a Share Valuation Quote from us (within a letter or email) and now wish to make payment for your Share Valuation, you can pay by:

Bank Transfer

You will need to provide proof of payment in writing, along with the Quote Reference and the relevant Shareholder Reference for the shareholdings. Upon receipt we will check the payment has been received and provide the necessary valuation.

Cheque

If payment by phone is not possible, for whatever reason, we will ask you to make payment by cheque, via post.

You will need to send your written agreement to the Quote and a cheque for the total fee. The cheque must be from the personal or business account of the shareholder, legal representative or representative of the deceased. All cheques should be made payable to ‘Equiniti Limited’.

Please make sure that your cheque is signed, dated and that the words and figures match. Also, please attach a photocopy of your Share Valuation Quote to your cheque. This will prevent any delay in us providing you with your requested Share Valuation.

As soon as we have been able to process your Share Valuation, within five working days, we will send you a Share Valuation document to the registered address. Estate Valuations will be sent to the representative of the deceased.

The Share Valuation will provide the value(s) of the shareholding(s) that were detailed in your Share Valuation Quote. Presented in a similar way to the Quote, the Share Valuation will also provide the value of the specified shares as at the requested date; both elements will be shown on the document.

Banco Santander shareholders should also note that an indication of the value of shares is presented on the Banco Santander Shareholder Annual Statement; usually sent in November.

Current share prices can be found in any daily financial newspaper or on the internet. You may also be able to find historical share price information on the web and, in particular, the Company’s website.

We are unable to provide a Share Valuation for the following types of shares: Preference shares, Loan Notes, Bonds, Shareholder Incentive Plans or Employee Scheme Shares.

Indicative share value information is available for those Employee Schemes enabled within the ESP Portal.
